Initial conditions and change in reference frame

Hi All,

I am running a 2D transient case for an object moving in a static tube passing a junction (T-junction effectively). Dynamic meshing has been used to move the object using pimpleDyMFoam. The resultant flow is generated purely by the moving object.

I have created an initial condition for this model (some distance before the object reaches the junction), based on a simple pipe with the object placed in it, with an inlet-outlet flow equal to the object velocity. The model is steady state using simpleFoam.

My question is: In order to use the steady state model as my initial condition I must change the frame of reference from the object to the tube. Is this as simple as subtracting the inlet velocity from the initial condition velocity field (in the x-direction)?

Thanks in advance
