Advices on meshing for OpenFoam

Hi Foamers,

I am quite new to CFD, especially with OpenFoam.

My case is 2D and using the buoyantPimpleFoam solver and I would like to know if I should mesh my geometry rather with triangle or quadrangle? Is there any rule about how to decide which one I should use?

Also, on my physic system, I have sharp angles but I know I should put fillets instead. What is the minimum radius to be used? (currently using 0.1 but I choosed a random value...)

Hi,

blockmesh creates "hexahedra" mesh -> good mesh for CFD

there is a tool called polyDualMesh: It is used to generate a “honeycomb” polyhedral mesh from a tetrahedral mesh. “honeycomb” polyhedral mesh -> good mesh for CFD

What tool do you want to use for your meshing?
