Hello. can someone explain a bit how to use chemkinToFoam to convert the GRI-3 mechanism files; both reactions and thermodynamics file, from chemkin 2 format to the openFoam format ?

Working through this issue myself.

Download grimech30.dat and thermo30.dat: http://combustion.berkeley.edu/gri-m...30/text30.html

Running below should output the files you want (had to remove line #2 in thermo30.dat.)

chemkinToFoam -newFormat grimech30.dat thermo30.dat chem thermo

Do you know how to transfer the transport file from chemkin to Foam ? , chemkintofoam utility allows me only to transfer the reaction and thermodynamics files!

I tried the following command using both versions Openfoam 8 and 2112, which did not work
chemkinToFoam -newFormat grimech30.dat thermo30.dat chem thermo

I get this error:

--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR: (openfoam-2112)
"ill defined primitiveEntry starting at keyword 'THERMO' on line 1 and ending at line 4"

file: therm.dat at line 4.

From void Foam:rimitiveEntry::readEntry(const Foam::dictionary&, Foam::Istream&)
in file db/dictionary/primitiveEntry/primitiveEntryIO.C at line 238.


Any help is appreciated.
