Hi all,

I'm trying to run XiFoam with the help of the tutorial made by Ehsan Yasari :
http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...sariReport.pdf

The thing is, in the openfoam exemple of XiFoam called miriyoshyHomogeneous there are two 0/ files called ft and fu which are not present in tutorial made by Ehsan Yasari.

So my question is, what are concerning these two files in order to complete properly the boundaries and the internal field.

(And optionally why aren't they present in the Ehsan Yasari tutorial if someone has already read it).

Have a nice day, thank you,
Adrien

Hi Adrieno,

Did you find an answer for ft and fu terms of XiFoam tutorial case.

from my little experiments i found that none of these terms are required to run the simulations. so they are like optional files.

However according to XiFoam solver ft looks like the fuel mass fraction. I am not sure but if you have figured this, it would be great help if you could share it here.

Actually I didn't find much thing else that you've already find :c
This was the only information I get :
I've seen that XiFoam didn't need these files to run (whereas these files are needed to decompose the case....)
Someone who's used to look into the source code may be better for explaining this... I will soon try to have an eye on it but not yet
have a nice day,
Adrien

For those still interested:
http://www.openfoam.com/documentatio...mophysical.php

From the above source, it looks like ft is the total fuel mass fraction, and fu is the unburned fuel mass fraction. If these files are needed or not depends on the chosen thermophysical model (for example "homogeneousMixture" needs only b)
casseer15 and wsp like this.
