Hello dear OpenFoam-friends,

My problem looks like this:

I have a fluid solution which I want to map on a solid. Have a look at the first attached picture. The blue part is my internal fluid region, the green part was left out during the simulation. The green part is my solid blade, where I want to map for example the pressure field.
Due to different reasons the fluid-blade geometry is slightly different to my solid-blade geometry.
When I execute mapFields I get the result in picture 2. The mapping works fine for the cells where my solid blade is slighty larger or same size as my fluid boundaries. Sometimes there is a gap between fluid and solid, there the mapping does not work.

My questions:

1. can I solve this problem within mapFields?

2. or is there a way to "stretch" my solid blade for example 1 mm in each direction so that it gets a bit larger. I know of "scale", but as my geometry is not axissymetric I could not figure out how to do that.

Thank you very much for any ideas!

Amelie

I might have found a solution already within mapFields. The default mapMethod is cellVolumeWeight. Now I tried -mapMethod mapNearest, which seems to work fine for my problem.
