MPPIC entries in the kinematicCloudProperties

Hi everybody,

I want to know the meaning of some MPPIC entries of particleStressModel
in the kinematicCloudProperties as:

- alphaPacked - (Is this the volume fraction of the particle Phase?)

- pSolid (Is this the constant Ps of the Harris and Crighton expression for isotropic solid stress)

- beta

My second question is where I find the sourcefile of the PlessisMasliyahDrag model - is it somewhere in the Folder of the OpenFOAM Software or where can I check up this ?

Thank you in advanced.

Regards.

Hi fjby
alphapacked is the maximum allowable volume fraction of the particles, that is around 0.68 for spherical particles.

pSolid is a constant with units of pressure. its value varies from 10 to 100. Read "An Incompressible Two-Dimensional Multiphase Particle-In-Cell Model for Dense Particle Flows" chapter XIV.

also beta is an empirical constant.

and to your second question search for the name in openFoam folder or google it.

by the way do you know when to use packing, damping and isotropy models?? In tutorial folder different combinations of these models are used for each test case.
