Hi everybody,
I want to know the meaning of some MPPIC entries of particleStressModel in the kinematicCloudProperties as: - alphaPacked - (Is this the volume fraction of the particle Phase?) - pSolid (Is this the constant Ps of the Harris and Crighton expression for isotropic solid stress) - beta My second question is where I find the sourcefile of the PlessisMasliyahDrag model - is it somewhere in the Folder of the OpenFOAM Software or where can I check up this ? Thank you in advanced. Regards. |

Hi fjby
alphapacked is the maximum allowable volume fraction of the particles, that is around 0.68 for spherical particles. pSolid is a constant with units of pressure. its value varies from 10 to 100. Read "An Incompressible Two-Dimensional Multiphase Particle-In-Cell Model for Dense Particle Flows" chapter XIV. also beta is an empirical constant. and to your second question search for the name in openFoam folder or google it. |

by the way do you know when to use packing, damping and isotropy models?? In tutorial folder different combinations of these models are used for each test case.
