How represent/ mesh ambient region outside a geometry in OpenFOAM

1 Attachment(s)
I am relatively new to OpenFOAM and I have been running a few simple simulations. I am currently modelling flow through a box (see attached screen shot) with inlet and outlet boundary conditions and getting some sensible results. I however wish to extend my computational domain to see how the flow interacts with the ambient as it emerges from the outlet boundary of the geometry.

Any suggestion/ideas on how to represent/mesh ambient region around a geometry in OpenFOAM is much appreciated.

Thanks
