mappedPatch

Hi,

I try to use a a cut through my domain as inlet condition. I'm using a mappedPatch type of inlet. My geometry is a simpel pipe with a 90o bend. I would like to map the outlet of my domain to my inlet, so it has a offset and it is 90 degrees rotated. I tried to use "offsetMode normal" but there I only can give a distance and not a vector as offset. Someone know how to do this?

I had to do a simple pipe with dimension that of micrometers.

I was always getting error.
So I switched to salome for meshing.it is solved

Thank for you're response. My problem is that I need to use a sampling plane which is not parallel to the inlet plane. Seems impossible without writing code myself.

Are you trying to do a 90degree bend pipe

The King May 4, 2017 00:57

Yes. Thats what I'm doing.

I guess it can be done in Salome

Hello sir , i am doing a project in which the geometry of the pipe is 90 degree bent pipe.i used salome to create the geometry and mesh it but was unable ti set the number of meshes.i hope that you have done it in openfoam using blockmesh. Can you please help me on how you did it ?
