i am a new openfoam user. and i am trying to understand the changeDictionaryDict file in planeWall2D. there is wildcard ".*" in U,P in 0 file, whats the meaning of wildcard ".*" . and what is the meaning of topAir_to_.* in the changeDictonaryDict file. Thank you very much

It simply means "consider all the files whose name starts with topAir_to_".
