thermal energy storage, sand, 6 hours

Greetings Foamers,

i am simulating the performance of loading (heating) thermal energy storage to regular sand with hot air (i 'm trying the RAS 2D fluidisedBed tutorial modified, with the twoPhaseEulerFoam solver, Vair=0.11, Tair=450K, initial temperature of air and sand is 300k).

I want to extract data for the temperature of the sand bed after 6 hours of performance.

Is it possible to calculate those without the huge computation time?
(what time step must i use?)

Or else if it is possible somehow to predict the time that takes to sand to heat up until 450k?

(everything else in the simulation are fluent and undefined)
Sorry if my questions are hilarious, i am a complete rookie with CFD and OpenFoam!

Much obliged in advance
Michalis
