New Member on OpenFOAM
I am new member for OpenFOAM. i downloaded OpenFoam 4.0 for my computer, when i try to follow the tutorials instructions on my Openfoam i find that i can not find the folder named polyMesh which each tutorial refers to inorder to find the blockMesh.
What should i do or what could have happened to my openfoam download. |
You need to run the blockMesh command first.

Moi, It depends on how professional you are in CAD design and meshing: 1- Open source software 1.a) CAD I suggest you to use Salome or onshape for you geometry design. You can also do meshing with salome (I don't suggest that). There are lots of YouTube tutorials for that. also the following tutorials: http://www.wolfdynamics.com/our-serv...ing.html?id=50 1.b) MESH As I mentioned salome could be one option. I generally use cfMesh, which works great. SnappyHexMesh is another one. For tutorials of SnappyHexMesh use this: http://www.wolfdynamics.com/wiki/meshing_OF_SHM.pdf 2- Commercial software: 2.a) CAD There are lots of them. Catial, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Design modeler in ANSYS 2.b) MESH Fluent Mesher, ANSYS Mesher, Pointwise, GridPro I worked with all of these software. I use any of them for the purpose of the project. I suggest you to start with Salome and cfMesh. Moikka! Peyman |
