Hi, I'm trying to find out how to solve the problem of finding the torques on two rotors rotating at fixed speeds in a small chamber of fluid. Like two impellers side by side in a small chamber of enclosed fluid.
So far I have found SRFSimpleFoam but that only supports one rotor from what I can understand. I have searched day and night for this and I'm mentally and physically exhausted. I would appreciate some help here. |

Use multiple reference frame (MRF) zones. There is a tutorial case in the simpleFoam folder called rotor disc that demonstrates it's use. As I understand it, you will want to make two cell zones around the two different impellers. Then in an MRF file inside your constant folder, you will set up the rotational speed of each of these zones. What this does is adds the Coriolis effect inside of these zones as well as change any boundary condition in the zone to be in the rotating reference frame.
Once you have that, set up a forces calculation. For this, see the documentation documentation: https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...es-forces.html |
