checkMesh fails, non closed Cells is there any possibility to close them?
Hi everyone,
I have a Mesh which has different kind of grids: the structured and there is some unstructured parts. When I try to convert the mesh, everything goes fine, but the checkMesh fails 2 checks. It seems, that there are some open Cells in this "intersection". Is there any possibility to patch this? this is the checkMesh response: Create time Create polyMesh for time = 0 Time = 0 Mesh stats points: 1368793 faces: 4929396 internal faces: 4794724 cells: 1823654 faces per cell: 5.33222 boundary patches: 15 point zones: 0 face zones: 4 cell zones: 4 Overall number of cells of each type: hexahedra: 1194739 prisms: 0 wedges: 0 pyramids: 23181 tet wedges: 0 tetrahedra: 588889 polyhedra: 16845 Breakdown of polyhedra by number of faces: faces number of cells 5 16845 Checking topology... Hello Ventins,
I don't think so, it has anything to do with mesh conversion. Improve your mesh quality in your mesh generating tool. Also, you have pretty high mesh non-orthogonality. Even, if you don't get any problem with open faces. You might face problems due to high non-orthogonality. |
Thank you, very much for your reply! I'll try to improve the mesh.
And while I'm at it, I should get rid of those internal walls |
