Initialize internal field as Atmospheric BL profile given in the inlet

Hi all,
In my simulation, I apply the
Code:

atmBoundaryLayerInletVelocity
type BC at inlet, and I also would like to initialize the whole flow field (internal cells) as whatever profile is calculated at the inlet boundary with atmBoundaryLayerInletVelocity, instead of a uniform velocity. This is a profile that varies in the z (upward) direction only.
Is this possible in OpenFOAM?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I would say this is possible, probably by using the codestream functionality, or using funkySetFields from swak4Foam. I do not have an example ready, but if you search the forum a bit, you may find one.

Regards,
Tom

FYI: OFv1912 has recently learned `setExprBoundaryFields` and `setExprFields` which are the OpenFOAM implementations of the various functionalities of the famous `swak4Foam`.
