Difference using MRFProperties or DynamicMeshDict

Hey guys,
I would to understand the difference is uisng MRFPRoperties or DynamicMeshDict in order to simulate a rotating pump.

In some tutorial the MRFProperties file is used, insted of other that use DynamicMeshDict.

I'd like to use CFMesh for meshing and apply the rotaitng zone using topoSetDict, with simpleFoam solver

Which way is the best one?
Thanks a lot,
Carlo

Hi Carlo,

dynamicMeshDict is required for the transient dynamic simulation(propeller turorial in pimpleFoam). It demands huge computational efforts. MRF SimpleFoam is a reasonable alternative to transient dynamic simulation.

As of now I am simulating my propeller using simpleFoam with MRF and I am also defining the rotating regions using topoSetDict. So simpleFoam with MRF would be the best option out of two.

Krao

Thanks a lot for the explanation!
