Backwater effect after gaining steady state for few seconds

Hi ,
I am trying to simulate an open channel flow(a rectangular channel with a slope of almost 10^-6 and) using interfoam. The solution reach to steady state at 3 seconds and remains in steady state for almost 6 to 7 seconds. After that a wave propagate backwards towards the inlet??
Thank you

Hi Mohsin,

I think this is about re-circulation effect, In external aerodynamic flow this could be overcome by extending the size of the domain. Can this be applied in your case also?

I extended the domain but the behaviour of water somehow, remained the same. I think this might be due to the boundary conditions at the outlet.
