Dear all,

I am planning to use specular reflective walls in my simulations for a polished aluminium surface in my system.
I would like to know if someone already dealt with this and how should implement it.
What radiation model do you think is best suited for that (fvdom vs viewfactor)?
Should I set something particular in the radiation properties file?
I know openfoam can deal with such problems since I can find some files related to that in the sources but I really have no clue on how to use it.
Thank you very much in advance for any help.
Yann

I actually tried to use a boundaryRadiationProperties file with such entry:

Code:
top
{
    type        opaqueReflective;
    fd          0.0;
    wallAbsorptionEmissionModel
    {
      type            multiBandAbsorption;
      absorptivity    (0.3 0.7);
      emissivity      (0.3 0.7);
    };
}

unfortunately it doesn't give good results

I also tried to change opaqueReflective to transparent (just to see if my baffle is not blocking the radiative flux), but I can not see any of my radiation passing through my baffle, meaning something wrong happens.
I wonder if the boundaryRadiationProperties file is correctly taken into account in the simulation and how it interfere with 0/IDefault BC.

Thanks a lot for any clue.

Nobody ever did such simulations?

That's very interesting. That's what I personally can say for this question so far. I really liked it. If I can find some time, I will try to have look at it.
