What is 0/uniform/time directory?

Hi everyone,

I am sure, this is a very simple question, but nevertheless I could not find an answer so far. I am completely new to OpenFoam and am using rhoSimpleFoam with a base template that has been provided to me. Now there appeared a directory "0/uniform", which has a file "time" in it, that wasn't in the templates. Can anyone tell me, what this directory isand if I need it? Thank you in advance!

Hi,
That is a file which reports
value xxx;//time

name "xxx";//name of folder, time

index xxx;//number of time step

deltaT 0.0005;//time step

deltaT0 0.0005;//previous time step

The folder uniform may include other things too.

Ok, I think I understand. But do I actually Need it? Because it wasn´t part of the templates I´ve got, so I wonder where it came from?
