Boundary Conditions for Bubble Spreading using interFoam

Hi all,

I am currently using interFoam to model bubbles growing from a submerged orifice and spreading on a flat plate before detachment and rise. In order to vary the material, I have used the constantAlphaContactAngle boundary condition, with various contact angles.

However, the bubble spreads to a volume/diameter much larger than seen in experimental work. The experiments reveal that the bubbles are typically pinned to the side of the orifice or at least don't spread as much as the CFD models indicate.

What would be a better boundary condition for the flat plate, instead of constantAlphaContactAngle? I was thinking either a partial slip condition or a thin film boundary condition (however, I don't know if interFoam supports thin films).

Thank you in advance for any ideas.
