Please, could someone tell me how to add chemistry to the existing tutorial reactingTwoPhaseEulerFoam--->laminar--->fluidisedBed, since although it names "reacting" there are no files responsible for reactions inside, the content is absolutely the same as just TwoPhaseEulerFoam--->laminar--->fluidisedBed.
I have to simulate a catalytic reaction in a gas-solid fluidised bed catalytic reactor.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,I am using reactingTwoPhaseEulerFoam to simulate the combustion reaction of gas-solid fludised bed.
1 I am a new fomer,in my opinion ,the solver is suitable for gas-gas reaction,so we need add the gas-solid reacting in the solver . --->we can get the reaction rate of gas-solid reaction.
2 we need change the goverming equation (use the gas-solid rate)
3 I imitate the case RAS->bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting->constant->reaction.gas

Thank you for the reply.

Is your simulation successful? I am trying to use files responsible for reactions from bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting (actually I have copied them to the tutorial of a fluidised bed of a reactingTwoPhaseEulerFoam and modified them according to my case), however all time I get different errors and can not start simulation. Your field of simulation is similar to mine, therefore if everything is ok with your case maybe you will be able to help me

Hello, do you have the success in your simulation?

i used this document to do the bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting Tutorial,incase you haven't already found it.

Actually, I want to simulate the fluidized bed catalytic reactor. However, since there is no chemistry in the "fluidisedBed" folder of the reactingTwoPhaseEulerFoam tutorial, I am trying to use the bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting to add chemistry to the fluidisedBed case. Now I think maybe it is possible just to change the bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting accordingly to make it suitable for use as a fluidized bed.

I am not sure if you solved your problem. I am not familiar with the bubbleColumnEvaporatingReacting solver but i looked at the configuration and from what i can tell it is setup to model evaporation of a liquid species coupled with gas-gas phase reactions of the evaporated species.

If you are trying to do some sort of gas-solid or gas-liquid surface based reaction at a particulate or droplet interface in your fluidized bed you may have an easier time using the coalChemistryFoam solver and building a custom surface reaction model to capture the adsorption, reaction, and desorption behavior at the catalyst surface.

Note: you will also need to update the thermophysicalProperties library to include the solids your bed is made of for an accurate particulate model.

Thanks for you advice. Yes, I have to simulate the gas-solid fluidized bed catalytic reactor. So, I will try to use coalChemistryFoam as you proposed, have you made the similar in the past?

Did you get any success in your simulaion?
