Hello,
I am new to the use of OpenFoam in Fire Modelling, and I am wondering what is the difference between the two soot models available (mixtureFractionSoot<gasEThermoPhysics> and mixtureFractionSoot<gasHThermoPhysics>) and also what do the coefficients mean (nuSoot and Wsoot).
I already looked on google and on openfoam.org / openfoam.com + on this forum and it seems like my question hasn't been asked before.

WSoot = molecular weight of soot
nuSoot= number of moles of soot

I still dont get the difference between the two soot models though, if anyone can help

To my knowledge, there is only one soot model implemented in OpenFOAM: mixtureFraction. (https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...tureFraction.H)

The difference between gasEThermoPhysics and gasHThermoPhysics is only related to the thermophysical properties. You can either choose a thermo package based on the enthalpy (H) or the internal energy (E).

The form of energy you are using is defined in thermoType in the thermophysicalProperties file.

It doesn't make a difference in the soot model, it only changes the form of the energy being solved.

I wonder if OpenFOAM has the soot radiation interaction? Or more specifically, if I can set the absorption coefficient for soot. I really appreciate any help you can provide.
