Hello everyone,
I am having an extremely basic issue that I cannot figure out for the life of me. I've followed the motorbike SHM tutorial and am simply trying to replace the motorbike object with a cylinder. However, When I get to run the surface features dict I get the following: '--> FOAM FATAL ERROR: Cannot read "/home/niall/OpenFOAM/niall-10/run/CylinderFlowSHM/constant/geometry/Cylinder.stl" Furthermore, when I drag the STL file into paraView it won't even open in there, which makes no sense to me.' Does anyone have an idea what might be the cause of this? I exported the cylinder as an ascii stl file from solidworks. I suspect its something to do with the file itself, so what are some important considerations regarding STL files? I've attached the text file |

I can display this file without any problem after changing the extension from .txt to .stl
If I remember correctly, solidworks exports the files per default as ".STL" and OpenFOAM wants them to be named ".stl". Maybe that is the issue? |
