Multiple Injection points in sprayFoam
 

I would like to know how multiple injectors can be introduced into sprayFoam. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance

I am working on propane injection into propane vapor (pressure 138000Pa, Temperature - 324K)
I have tried the sprayFoam with coneNozzleInjector. It works perfecltly fine. The temperature and pressure profile looks decent. But when I switch the injector to coneInjector for having multiple injections ( 7 point injections). The temperature of the propane gas shoots up to more than 1000k. I could not understand what is initiating this phenomena. Attaching the sprayCloudProperties file for both the cases.

I have been looking for the way to define multiple injectors in sprayFoam.

I tried to define two injectors using positionAxis keyword in sprayCloudProperties, but when running sprayFoam, I got a Fatal Error. What's wrong with it?

Hi Arash,

You have defined coneNozzleInjection in the sprayCloudProperties. coneNozzleInjection do not support multiple injection. its coneInjection which supports multiple point injections (no diameter need to be defined). you can check the source codes in openfoam200\src\lagrangian\intermediate\InjectionM odels (I hope the path is correct). I tried implementing a multiConeNozzleInjection model. but still struggling with some compilation errors. Once I am done, I will share it with you.

Hi,Kripal, acutually I am using sector domain to simulate the multi-injectors(whole domain is a const. cylinder), but the mass injected is not equal to what I input(much smaller than I input, not equal to the total mass divided by number of sectors either). Do you know the possible reason of this?

In sprayCloudProperties, change the minParticleMass to something like 1e-21
That should solve the problem.

Im currently using coneInjection to simulate a three port injector. How does sprayFoam define the diameter of the outlet? is it from the mass flow rate and Umag?

How do you input the injection pressure?

Sorry for bother you, but I have same issue.
I'm running sprayFoam with C13H28, so I need to change the injection pressure to 80 MPa and in the sprayCloudproperties does not appear any reference for changing the pressure.
I wonder if you can solve this problem, also I'm using sprayFoam instead of dieselFoam.

I think you need to set your flowType to pressureDrivenVelocity and specify spray pressure in Pinj.

I have several question about the sprayCloudProperties file, more specifically with coneNozzleInjectionCoeffs.

- Is there any file (into openfoam211\src\lagrangian\intermediate for example) where are defined all this Coeffs (like SOI, parcelBasisType, outerDiameter, etc...) and his respective choices? If anyone knows any of his meaning, I would be grateful for a brief description.

- Also I wondered if the "thetaOuter" is the angle of the jet measured from the bisecting line (assuming a symmetric jet). And... is it necessary to define this parameter as an input parameter? Is not there another model that doesn't need to define this parameter as input, for to be analyzed in the post processing?
