Hello

I've been trying to change the parameters of simpleGrading in the mesh file so that I get smaller quadratic orthogonal elements near the edges. However, I seem to only be able to make them refined on one side. I just have a square cross-section that I would like to refine at the edges.

Thank you very much

Kind Regards,

F

In principle any where, but I like to put it in OpenFOAM/user-2.0.x/applications/utilities/. After you extracted the files, run the Allwmake script once and then you can use the utility.

Hi.
I did as you said, and put the blockmeshdg folder in applications/utilities and then ran allwmake from the folder but it told me the command didn't exist. i also tried wmake but it failed.

ideas?

Kindest regards,

F

What happened exactly when you ran ./Allwmake? What was the error message if you got any? Were you able to run any other OpenFOAM commands in the same shell?

The executable name is "blockMeshDG" by the way - the capitalization is important.

Ok it compiles now.

What is the required syntax for having inflated meshes at each side of a square? simpleGrading I suppose would not incorporate this effect?

Kindest Regards,

Francesco

Use it just like the standard blockMesh, but use negative coefficients where you want double grading.
