Hi,

is there any freeware C++ compiler which you would recommend for Ubuntu OpenFOAM 2.1.1?

Greetings Alexander,

That's... a very strange question, specially if you don't detail anything else to indicate why you're asking this question!?

GCC, the default compiler on most Linux distributions, is the standard compiler for OpenFOAM and I quote:

In particular your system will need to include a recent version of gcc (check with gcc --version, we recommend gcc-4.4.? but gcc-4.3.? is sufficient). If the installed version is not recent source pack for newer versions are available from http://gcc.gnu.org/.
And GCC is waaaaay beyond freeware: it's open-source!!

So... more specifically, what else or what exactly do you want to know?

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Alexander,

I haven't used Qt Creator for building OpenFOAM utilities, and I don't know of any tutorials that explain how to use it for OpenFOAM. For Eclipse I know it exists: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...M_with_Eclipse

Anyway, forget Qt Creator for now and follow this tutorial first: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...ure_to_icoFoam

Then use Google or something else to search for more information on what you want to do :
Code:
add boundary condition openfoam
Best regards,
Bruno
