Applying pressure drop in cyclic case - problems with fan bc

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere; this seems straightforward but I haven't found this discussed elsewhere in the forum.

I'm setting up a 2D case with flow past an object in a box with cyclic boundary conditions on all sides. The flow is driven by a pressure drop on the left and right side of the box. My understanding is that the fan bc is the way this is usually done... unfortunately this applies the pressure drop across each coupled face and what I need is a uniform pressure value across each patch. Ideally I could just apply a fixedValue to each side but that BC is incompatible with the cyclic patch type.

I can alter the fan bc to accomplish this, but since this seems like such a standard case setup I wanted to check if other people have come up with a solution first.
