OpenFOAM wall function treatment

Hello there,

i have a question regarding the wall function treatment for the kOmegaSST model in OpenFOAM 2.1.x.

I am using the nutUSpaldingWallFunction and i would like to know, if it's comparable to the automatic wall function treatment in CFX. Does anybody knwo that? so does the nutUSpaldingWallFunction uses a blending between lowRe and highRe?
Is there another wall function available in OpenFOAM-2.1.x for the kOmegaSST turbulence model that is comparable to the automatic wall function treatment in CFX?

king regards!

i forgot to mention:
i am interested only in wall function treatment for incompressible RANS applications

Yes it is a "automatic" wall function, but not comparable to that of CFX.

thanks for replying! so it uses some kind of automatic blending to accomplish to the low- and highRe formulation of the SST-model ?
i didn't really expect that it is comparable to that one used in CFX :)
do have any references of validation test cases for OpenFOAM that uses the Spalding wf formulation in combination with kOmegaSST ?
would be nice!
or maybe experiences using SST with Spalding?

is there an article about mutUSpaldingWallFunction?

This is the original paper:
B. E. Launder and D. B. Spalding.
The Numerical Computation of Turbulent Flows.
Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 3:269-289, 1974.
(I didn't find it online)

Perhaps this helps: http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~lada/pos..._report_WF.pdf

I was wondering if I am right: looking at the source code the function used to solve nut or U is only the viscous sublayer so lets say only valid for y+ < 10 ?

Does anabody know this for certain?
Nevermind, looking and plotting the function found in the original report of Spalding for the second time I conclude that above perception is wrong.
