Dear formers,

I'm looking for a OF solver for two-phase flow with a porous media.
There is a porous region in the middle of a channel where air can go through the porous media, but liquid cannot. I'd like to consider each momentum equation for each component. So I'm looking for a solver consisting of twoPhaseEulerFoam and porous media. I'd really appreciate that if you could give me some guidelines. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hello Jeong,
Did you manage to solve your problem? I am kind of struggling with a similar one. I am using explicit porousity via fvOptions for compressibleInterFoam solver, i want my gas phase to diffuse through the porous medium freely but I don't want my liquid phase to diffuse. Do you have any suggestions on that? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Armin

I am not sure if I understood your problem correctly. I only have experience using explicitPorositySource with interFoam, but wouldn't one phase fill the volume not filled by the other? So in your case, any cell that is not filled with the liquid phase should be filled by the gaseous phase.

Hello
Thanks for your reply. In my simulation, I have a two phase (liquid-gas) flow surrounded by a porous medium. My problem is that my liquid phase starts to penetrate through the porous medium which should not! I am looking for a way to stop that.

Hello again
Can anyone help me with this problem? I tried various things, they all failed.
I would appreciate any help

I want to implement inertial and viscous resistances (function of volume fraction) as a source in interFoam. Can you help me with this?

Thanks and regards

Hello,

check OF10, version. There is a tutorial named bed, which simulates multiphaseEulerFoam using solid as a phase. It is not a porosity term, but a way to simulate a flow in porous media.

regards,
