AMI boundary conditions

Hi all,
I'm currently working on blade-pitched VAWT simulation. I use pimpleDyMFoam on OpenFOAM 2.2.1. My domain is rectangular with a 2D-cylindrical domain included on it which represent the rotor. This part of the domain is rotating. I use AMI and solidBodyMotionFunction. I would like to deform the mesh around the blades in order to simulate the active blade pitch. I fuse the codes of dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh and solidBodyMotionFvMesh to use both motion solver and solid body function. I use displacementLaplacian solver and I noticed that even if I specify fixedValue boundary condition on the AMI patches on 0/pointDisplacement they move with the rest of the domain. I want them to remain fixed when the mesh motion is solved in order to apply the rotation after the deformation. Is this approach right ? How can I force openFOAM to apply fixedValue boundary condition on my AMI patches ? |

Hi HasB,
Unfortunately I can't help you now, but I might be able to later on, as I am about to investigate a set-up similar to yours (multiple mesh motion). Would it be possible for you to send me your solver and/or test case, to help me get started more quickly? Best regards, Sylvester Last edited by sylvester; September 19, 2013 at 11:22.
