Front Tracking via markers in OpenFOAM

Hi everyone!

Have there been some attempts yet to do a front tracking via markers? We have a project here where this would be an interesting concept. The idea is to e.g. spawn a marker at a cell's center once a certain condition is reached so it has certain x,y,z coordinates. Then one would scan for which cell this marker lies within and then this cell's data (like its velocity) would be used to move the marker around accordingly...

Do you know if a concept like this already was realized with OpenFOAM?

Hi Thomas,

I'm not too familiar with the state of the art of front tracking in OF but this might be a good place to start. Its a presentation from the OF9 conference in Zagreb, some very promising advances in this field coming out of TU Darmstadt.
