wc3speler is on a distinguished road
Hi everyone!

Suppose I do a 3D flow calculation where a term volVectorField div(U*U) is being calculated. I would like to average this volume term in the spanwise direction, i.e. the result being a volume field in a 2D plane (1 cell thick) which can be output like a normal field. How can this be coded?

The context is that I first want to do a turbulent flow simulation in 3D and then later use the recorded span-wise averaged acoustic source for a 2D acoustic simulation (sound pressure levels can be corrected afterwards).

Kind regards,
Jurriaan
