Hi everybody,

I'm working on a thermal exchanger (water/air). It consists in two cylinders, one of then is inside the other. The air goes through the water cylinder via a tube. Initially, the air is 600K and the water is 300K but at the end, water gets 420K......water should evaporate but it doesn't.

I'm using chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam because my model has 2 domains (air tube, water cylinder) but it doesn't take into account the change phase.

I wonder how I can carry out a simulation with both concepts (multiRegion and change phase). Is there a solver, which can do it? or the only way, is the modify the code?

Thanks
Cartuns

may be by not using a multi region solver but a VOF approach? At least this is what you'll learn if you do a literature review.

Hello,

I am also looking for a good solver dealing with multi-region problems and phase change effect. Have you found out one solver or any good idea?

Thanks ,

Peng

Hi,

I wrote a solver with temperature base phase change and then combine it

with conjugateHeatFoam solver that wroten by Hrvje Jasak,I validate phase

change section of this solver But I don't know it's conjugate section work

correctly or not!

Any updates on this issue?
