Variable boundary

Dear All
I want to model a cylindrical particle(biomass) which has its boundary varying with time. How can I do this in OpenFOAM?

You say 'particle' and that can be confusing because OF has particle models, but they are point models (i.e. physical volume is not directly represented).

You can do something with a scalar with 0=non-solid, and 1=solid, similar to alpha in OF's VOF solvers. I also recall there was an application called 'settlingFoam' that modelled the accumulation of particles on the bottom of the domain. You may want to look into how that does it.

I'm not sure of what other interface tracking methods OF has.

Dear Marupio
Thank you for your reply. In this particle is not a point. It is considered as a separate phase(solid phase).
