Adding constant temperature increase in middle of duct flow

Hi All,
I am a new OpenFoam user and am trying to simulate a ducted heat exchanger as part of my thesis project. I have managed to simulate an empty duct on OpenFoam and wish to add a temperature rise in the middle of the duct to emulate a heat exchanger increasing the temperature of the flow. At first I tried to add a fixed value BC at the top and bottom walls where the heat exchanger is supposed to be, but it only affected the temperature at the wall and not the rest of the flow (i.e. the flow between the two walls). Here is an image of what I mean:temp_dist.jpg I then attempted an externalWallHeatFluxTemperature BC which more or less produced the same result (albeit with a gradient at the walls). I was hoping if there was a way to 'spread' the temperature at the walls (where the heat exchanger is) towards the center of the duct and interact with the flow. I hope that someone could help me with this issue. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Sakariye |
