Dear FOAMers,

I have a system where a bubble is modeled by the VOF (interFOAM) and particles are modeled by DEM. Now I need to add a force between the particle and the bubble which is a function of the distance between the particle and the interface (alpha = 0.5, I assume). I can easily access to the position of particles. Could anyone enlighten me how can I find the position of the interface at a code level?

Thank you all,
Linhan

Hi Linhan,

I face to the same problem as your case, did you figure out it?

Thank you very much

Hi zangthanh,

I am still looking for an appropriate method. So glad someone else is doing the similar work. Are you simulating the bubble-particle interaction using VOF-DEM method as well?

Hi Linhan,

Yes, I will study it in the near future but I am now study the capillary rise with dynamic contact angle. So, I am trying to figure out the velocity at the interface to calculate the capillary number. But unfortunately, I am stilling working on it, I will update here if I find out it.

I hope some experts will help us to broaden us
