An eulerian formulation to simulate atomization process.

I'm trying to simulate gas atomization process and currently using interFoam solver with isoAdvector geometrical advection. However due to the computational limitations, I'm looking for alternative methods. I found an Eulerian approach proposed by Vallet et al. (A. Vallet, A. A. Burluka, and R. Borghi. Development of a eulerian model for the "atomization" of a liquid jet. Atomization and Sprays, 11(6):619–642, 2001). They proposed an single phase approach with variable density to solve for pressures and velocities and surface area density equation to obtain D32. I have seen several papers/ dissertations (by FELIS CARRASCO Francisco) discussing this method implemented in OpenFoam platform. However, I'm having some issues solving surface area density equation. I'm having a hard time initiating the value for surface area density. I'm looking for someone who has implemented this model. Really appreciate if someone can help me with this. Thank you, Kalpana |
