How long does it take to do implementation of new schemes?

Hello,

I try to do implementation of the two schemes,

LDDRK (Low-Dissipation and Low-Dispersion Runge–Kutta Schemes) and
DRP (Dispersion-Relation-Preserving Schemes).

I already have the two original papers, and I would like to start to work if it takes about 2-3 months...

I never tried implementation, just have used OpenFOAM only for simulations.

Hi,
This is entertaining questions. It really depends on your skills and hard working. If you work full time on an implementation you will be able to debug it in 2-3 months.
Hint: many schemes or schemes very similar to what you want are already implemented in OpenFoam. google things before start working on a code.

good luck
Ardalan

I found a paper and they use spatial discretization in 6th order and time discretization in 4th order, and I think I can use them also. But I can not find such schemes in openfoam website...

Maybe they also implemented the schemes themselves?

Yes, I meant unofficial implementation. implementation of schemes in OpenFoam is not new issue.
