I am trying to learn openfoam based on the Ubuntu VIM,

I feel so uncomfortable because I've never used VIM before.

VS-CODE looks better, and I wonder if people who are good at openform actually use it.

Thank you

Kind Regards,

When working on my local machine, I use sublime-text. It has good integration with git and some other bells and whistles. I have thought about using VS code as I hear and see a lot of good things, but never made the effort to try it.

When working on the HPC, I use VIM. It is not really user-friendly, but once you learn some shortcuts it becomes tolerable.

Use whatever editor you find the most productive for you - doesn't matter if it is OpenFOAM or something else you are doing. Quick summary of the editors we use for OpenFOAM: jed, Kate, nedit, vim, vs-code (ie, just about anything).
