Hello everybody!
I am new in modifying the source code of OpenFOAM, so I hope some of you are able to help me. Here is my situation: I use the simpleSRFFoam solver to simulate a rotating windturbine-model. In this case the complete air is rotating and the wind turbine stand still. The revolution speed is very high (500rpm) and the cylindrical domain has a diameter of 60m. I get a totally turbulent flow field and wrong results because of these parameters. My idea is now to change something in the source code of the solver, so that the turbulence model is in the rotating reference frame and does not see this big vortex (changing the uses windspeeds from Urel to Uabs). Because of this vortex it calculates a big turbulent kinematic energy which should not there in realistic flow field. I hope it is possible to understand my problem and anybody can help me. Thank you very much. |
