Hi all foamers! I'm studying interFoam in deep and I'm trying to see what is the foundation of interfaceCompression divergence scheme. As is indicated in code description it isn't a TVD/NVD derived scheme although it is writen in consistent way with all other limiters.

1. What are the hypothesis assumed to derive this scheme?
2. Anybody has something written about this?, at least some notes.
3. Why not to use another divergence schemes?

Regards.

Hi, it seems that the blending factor is chosen such that upwind is used when the solutions reaches the extrema. The blending is not based on TVD/NDV since the nonlinear term which is being limited is not a normal flux based convection term. Here is a similar approach

http://imajna.oxfordjournals.org/con...1/116.abstract

the interfaceCompression scheme gives a \lambda to use in the TVD HRS framework implemented in FOAM.
