Hi,

It seems to me that in OpenFOAM 1.6-ext FEM-Discretisations on tetrahedral grids for the laplacian (tetFem::laplacian) and the gradient (tetFec::gradient) are available.
I'm planning to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation, like in simpleFoam, but with FEM instead of FVM. Is there already an implementation existing for the convective part with a Finite Element scheme.

I'm seeking for something like: tetFem::div(phi,U).

Does anyone know when a new version of OpenFOAM-extend will be released?
I'm also glad for any hint how to use FEM in OpenFOAM,
b. r., Martin.

I also have this wonder.

is there any difficulty to make FEM and FVM under the same OF archtecture.
some one said the FVM is good for eliptic PDE, while FEM is quick for parabolic(Am I right?)

I guess the FEM is still a huge work to do on OF, but it is not worth to do it. since couple with third party may be a quick solution.
