Hello everybody!

I face a problem running a simulation using chtMultiRegionsSimpleFoam.

The simulation progress is very slow and I need too much iterations to reach the results.

6 Regions:
LED contains a heat source defined in fvOptions
Two fluid regions INNEN and AUSSEN are air with free convection along z direction
The other PCB, GEH and ABS are solid regions

the simulation could be started as following:

In Terminal:

Allrun_pre to make the mesh using snappyHexMesh
Allrun_CD to make all the boundaries setup using changeDictionary
Run_Parallel.sh to start the simulation in parallel using 4 cores

The simulation progress is very slow. To follow the progress of the temperature change you can use gnuplot Plot_Tmax or simply in the terminal (or log file)...

The simulation needs too much iterations to reach convergence.

Changing the relaxtions factors helped a pit but not so much.

Any Idea how to reach the results faster?

The simulation converges by reaching the temperature of about 350 in LED region.

Regards

Peter
