Stopping Droplets from merging

Hello OpenFoam Users,

I am trying to simulate (using InterFoam) the droplet formation (which works fine) and then to send them through a microfluidic assemby with "shift register".

As shown in the video :

The problem is in all my cases the droplets merge with each other. Can someone explain me a way, such that I can prevent the droplet merging when they come close to each other? The surface is stabilized by the fluorocarbons present in the droplets.

Best Regards,

Abhishek

Hello OpenFoamers,

It will be of great help if you suggest me some way to solve this problem.

Thanks

Hi Abhishek,

I don't think you can prevent merging in interFOAM or any other interface-tracking methods. One think you might give a try is interTrackFOAM but I am not sure if it will solve your problem.

Cheers,

Duong
