rhoSimpleFoam versus rhoSimplecFoam

Hi all,

Could somebody please explain the difference between rhoSimpleFoam and rhoSimplecFoam? The User Guide in OpenFOAM.org describes them as:

rhoSimplecFoam
Steady-state SIMPLEC solver for laminar or turbulent RANS flow of compressible fluids
rhoSimpleFoam
Steady-state SIMPLE solver for laminar or turbulent RANS flow of compressible fluids

and the CFD-Online Wiki (http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/SIMPLEC_algorithm_-_SIMPLE_Consistent) calls SIMPLEC the Consistent version of SIMPLE. I'd like to understand what that means and what applications each model is suited for.

Regards,
Jeff

Hi,
May be you can have a look into to Ferziger and Perics book, it will might help you differentiate between to algorithms named SIMPLE and SIMPLEC.
