dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh on one cellZone only

Hello,

I would like to combine AMI and the dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh (displacementLaplacian) for FSI with rotating meshes.

Is it possible to limit somehow the cellZone on which the displacementLaplacian is solving the mesh motion equation?

Thanks for your comments in advance!

I'm also interested in this topic.

Anyone out there have any success (or failures) with ami (or ggi) for FSI with rotating meshes?

We have done a wind turbine with FSI for a blade: you will have to write your own dynamic mesh class for this.

Hi Guys,

In the 8 years since this thread was started, has the ability to apply the displacementLaplacian on one cellZone only been implemented?

I am trying to model a VAWT blade and its deflections using Calculix.

When combining solidBody motion with displacementLaplacian I get an error where the rotating body shrinks to a point where the simulation fails (see attached image).

Is there any way around this?

Thanks,
Conor

Hi Conor,
I have similar issue, with similar problem (oscillating blade and its deflections using Calculix via precice).

Did you solve the problem?
