Dear Foamers

I want to implement dem model with moving mesh in openfoam. I don't know if the Lagrangian track model support moving mesh with topological changes.

If the mesh topology was changed(cell remove,add or renumbering), and the index of the cell a particle occupied should be also changed. But in the Lagrangian model, there seems no codes do such a modification.
Is that true? I don't know much the topology change operation process. would you mind give me some suggestion?

regards, Junwei

Dear Junwei,

yes, it should work. I think the meshanics is done here:

void Foam::Cloud<ParticleType>::autoMap(const mapPolyMesh& mapper)

There are bugfixes in the 1.5-ext which did not make it into 1.5.x ...

I loved your particle movies that Hrvoje showed in Montreal! Thanks.

Regarding the problems, thanks for your helpful reply. I figure out the invoking loop now. Thanks again.

Dear Junwei

i know the thread is quit old, but did you manage to run a case with topological changes and particle tracking?
Got some problems with 1.6-ext running such a case and i don't know if it is due to a bad case setup.
I already posted my problem in the thread below.

Best regards,

Klaus
