Dear Members,

Could some one help me if OpenFOAM has any utility that converts Ansys-Fluent case/date files into FOAM compatible.

My aim is to solve the scalar transport equations in FOAM with completely established flow solution in Fluent.

Thanks for the help

You can convert fluent/gambit mesh into OF using fluentMeshToFoam. You can have information on how to use it with help.

fluentMeshToFoam -help

Thank you for your reply. Yes, but I am looking for converting final solution files. i.e., Data file of Ansys-Fluent.

Dear Hrvoje Jasak, Thanks for your reply. It appears that fluentDataToFoam is not available in recent OpenFoam version.

Haha, you can count on Henry Weller to delete useful things. You can grab it from 1.6-ext git and compile it yourself:

Hi Hjasak,

I tried to compile the fluentDataToFoam in OF2.1.1 for 64 bits, but it give me a error information as follwed.

~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.1/applications/utilities/preProcessing/fluentDataToFoam $ wmake

Making dependency list for source file fluentDataConverter.C
could not open file wordIOList.H for source file fluentDataConverter.C
Making dependency list for source file fluentDataToFoam.L
could not open file wordIOList.H for source file fluentDataToFoam.L
g++ -c -o fluentDataConverter.o fluentDataConverter.C
In file included from fluentDataConverter.C:27:0:
fluentDataConverter.H:42:19: fatal error: fvCFD.H: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make: *** [fluentDataConverter.o] Error 1

someone said this is valid for OF1.6-ex verstion. so what should I do? Thank you
