HaZe is on a distinguished road
Hi Foamers,

I'm having problems with my OF Simulation. My case is a internal combustion engine and I'm simulating the gas exchange without combustion. It's probably the turbulence model (k-epsilon) and therefor I'd like to run the simulation again with k-omega-SST. My problem now is how to calculate the initial values for omega in the internal and boundary field. I already searched the forum and had a look into the tutorials. In the cases I had a look at the initial omega varied in a huge range between 4.5e-3 and 77200.

Is there a broad rule how to choose the initial omega?

Regards,
HaZe

haakon will become famous soon enough
Have you tried the "Turbulence properties" calculator here at cfd-online.com? You find it under the "Tools" menu at the top.
