LES for buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam

Hello everyone,

Is there any reason why buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam originally only comes with RANS models? why it does not have runtime seletion libraries for turbulence modeling so that one can switch between RANS and LES? I am uisng OpenFOAM 2.1.1

Thanks

Hi

I'm also interested in running buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam with DES which come with LES. Is that even possible?

Thank,

Y.

need some help too

Hi, everyone!

I'd also like to know about this solver. I simulate an LES turbulence case. The air jet could be treated as incompressible and there is heat transfer due to a heated wall.

Which solver should I choose since buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam doesn't work with LES models?

Thanks.

Hi Peter,

I developed a new buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam solve capable with LES, please read thread
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...apability.html
The problem is that it gives wrong flow field after simulation which seems to have no turbulence. Please inform me if you have any comments?
